Canadian General-Tower Paves Path for Future Generations with 6th Annual Employee Scholarship Program

Leading Canadian manufacturer commits to investing in the future of its employees and generations to come by assisting in the furthering of education.

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO | September 25, 2019 – Canadian General-Tower (CGT), a leading global provider of coated fabric and film products, celebrates 150 years of industry leadership and dedication to employees with the conclusion of its 6th Annual Employee Scholarship Program. Since the Program’s inception in 2014, CGT has supported 56 students as they pursue their education at the post-secondary level.

As one of Canada’s oldest manufacturing companies, CGT credits much of its success over the past 150 years to its workforce — a global, diverse team of over 1,200 dedicated employees. The Annual Employee Scholarship Program is open to all CGT employees with dependent children who, following the successful completion of the Program’s application, are eligible to be awarded a scholarship of $2,000.00.

“If you ask us what our most valuable asset is, it’s our people,” says Craig Richardson, CEO. “CGT’s Annual Employee Scholarship Program is just one of the ways that we invest in our workforce and the personal advancement of our employees. It is important to us that we assist in creating a workforce for the future, and we look forward to welcoming future applicants and past recipients of the Scholarship to our team in the years to come.”

CGT’s 6th Annual Employee Scholarship was awarded to eleven recipients to conclude the 2019 Program. After thoughtful consideration and review by the Scholarship Program Committee, recipients were selected based on the student’s academic record, extracurricular activities, letters of reference and an essay question.

To date, CGT’s Employee Scholarship Program has funded approximately $112,000.00 towards the successful futures of the next generation on a global scale. In keeping with the organization’s commitment to investing in the future of its employees, the Program will continue to assist CGT employees and their dependents in helping them reach their goals and dreams for the future.
