Brushes with accumulated residue can be washed with a diluted solution of BioGuard Stripkwick™ (1 cup to a gallon of water) to remove debris.
PREVENTION: Two preventative measures may reduce the severity of this problem. First, when winterizing ALWAYS CIRCULATE AND THOROUGHLY DISTRIBUTE all swimming pool chemicals BEFORE partially draining the pool. This prevents solid and liquid products from sinking to the bottom and staying in prolonged contact with a new liner. Second, if possible, circulate the closed pool periodically (once a month). Of course this is not possible in all closed pools, but periodic brushing to stir up the water may help reduce this problem.
